Module 7: Pay Reviews

Benefits Designer

If you cannot compete on salary alone, the benefits you offer around pay become the difference between keeping great educators and losing them to the next service. Work through six categories of benefits, pick what you want to offer, set your budget, and AI drafts a benefits package summary for your team with an estimated cost and what to say in recruitment.

Your service

A few anchor details. These shape what AI recommends.

Total educators including casuals. Used for rough costing.
If you are at the lower end, benefits do more of the heavy lifting to attract and keep educators.
The 2-3 things that already make your service a good place to work, in your words. The package is a statement of those things, not a list of random perks.

Your brand and logo

Optional. Upload your logo and pick a brand colour so the document reflects your service identity.

Pick the benefits you want to offer

Six categories. Cost tags are indicative only. Tick anything you already offer (so the package reflects reality) or anything you are willing to offer.

0 benefits selected

Flexibility Usually low cost

Often the most valued category by educators. Flexibility costs the service very little, but it changes how educators experience the role.

Leave Low to medium

Extra leave beyond the National Employment Standards. Each day of extra leave is a day of paid labour cost, but these are often the headline benefits educators talk about.

Development Medium

Often the reason educators stay. Early education is a career, and the services that invest in development hold onto their people.

Financial Medium to high

Benefits with a clear dollar value. Always quantify these clearly for educators so the number lands.

Health and wellbeing Low to medium

The service is saying it takes educator wellbeing seriously, not just pays lip service to it. Wellbeing benefits work when they are real and used, not when they are listed but ignored.

Recognition and career Low cost

These cost little to run but do a lot of the work of making someone feel seen in their role.
