Module 2: Onboarding

90 Day Onboarding Planner

Build a structured 30, 60 and 90 day plan for a new educator. Aligned to qualifying review check ins so nothing is a surprise at the Month 3 review, and your end of qualifying review period decision is built on conversations the educator has already had.

Days 1 to 30Learn
Days 31 to 60Contribute
Days 61 to 90Own

Who is this plan for?

A few details so the plan lands for this educator in this service, not a generic template.

New to the sector
Some experience (1 to 3 years)
Experienced (3+ years)
Returning to work
Moving up (promotion or step up)
6 months
12 months

This 90 day plan runs through the first three months either way. Your qualifying review period continues to month 6 or 12 from start, aligned with the Fair Work minimum employment period (6 months for services with 15 or more employees, 12 months for small business).

Priorities and success measures

What does success look like for this educator by Day 90? We will build the plan backwards from here.

The 30, 60, 90 frame. Days 1 to 30 is Learn (absorb the service, children, team, systems). Days 31 to 60 is Contribute (step into programming, lead moments, take feedback). Days 61 to 90 is Own (run their responsibilities independently and you can walk into their room without rechecking everything).

Building your 30, 60 and 90 day plan. This usually takes 20 to 30 seconds.
